A Clown

by H E Losey   May 2, 2008

Tears, cascading down
A sad faced clown
A smile, upside down
A sad faced clown
So alone, feeling down
A sad faced clown
Once loved, now cast down
A sad faced clown
Times stopped, clocks run down
A sad faced clown
I'm done, casket top down
Gone, a sad faced clown

I would have loved to be told more about the sad faced clown. I felt that one minute his face was being described, and the next he's dead. Why did the sad looking clown die? What killed the sad looking clown? These questions popped into my head at the end when I realized that the clown was dead.

In other words I wish that this poem was longer and slightly more detailed. Besides those minor mishaps I believe that this was a rememberable poem.

Aww. This is so sad. I love the repitition of a sad faced clown. It makes the poem that much stronger. I love how at the end instead of a sad faced clown, you put gone a sad faced clown. Loved it. 5/5

I loved your use of "a sad faced clown" being repeated until the end with "gone a sad faced clown". Alot of people don't like abstract but I love abstract poetry. It really helps you personally relate to the writing and adds artisty. Excellent 5/5
