DELAYED PERCEPTIONS

by Mrs Lazzzzzzzzzara   May 7, 2008

I stepped into the gravel, I then stood still,
Frozen in my thoughts, frozen in my mind,
You moved from out of the sun, knowing I needed light,
Too afraid of another invisible scar, I was speechless,
But oh, you were so kind.

I sensed movement, for once not from but to,
You were walking towards me,
Not to talk, or touch, but to stare,
From there my attention was instantly yours,
Even if your actions weren't so fair..

Your hand unfolded, reaching for the hand in my pocket,
You pulled it out, to hold, not take,
There was no warmth in my hands, cold and slow,
But I held as tight as I could,
Prepared to be there, to follow wherever you go..

A smile formed on your face,
Neither scared or unsure,
We intertwined both body and soul,
It was perfect, oh I know you knew,
That I would always love you.
