It's A Hard Enough Life

by Sheila   May 16, 2008

She grabbed me by my arm
Her fingernails dug deep into my skin
I ran free as blood dripped on the ground
The last thing I heard her say was “No, Don’t Do it!”
Realized my only stunning achievement
Would be what I’m about to do now
I jumped off the bridge
My body was in pain once I hit the water
The water I let go from my nose left to the surface as it made bubbles tumble
As I kept on going down
The feeling in my body just started to fade
I couldn’t hear anyone
I didn’t want to live
With all the cries and lies
Anymore
I can’t stop this pain while I’m living
It will drain when I’m in a coffin
