Emptiness

by Dan Bloom   May 18, 2008

I am not to blame
for my lack of trust
You have done this to yourself

As I remain trapped in your realm,
each day becomes transparent.
It is so lucid.

A dream, no, a prophecy
is your inability to love me
It is a fore-ordination.

Always a fear of mine,
falling in to frigid darkness,
falling in love with you

I hoped I would find something
but I have given up
for I now know the truth

I see where the problem lies
It is within your soul
It is emptiness.

    Danny,

You have the skills to get the message and the feelings across. At my poetry club we are always instructed to leave 'filler words'out. That means words like I, me, you..the little words. Like use them one time to let people know who the poem is about, but then write it without those words. I think you would be able to do this. I am not a master at it myself, but I am trying, lol! I hope you appreciate my comment. It is not meant to belittle you, but to help you, like you did to me:)

    Good poem, btw:)

    Take care,
