Vulnerable

by Dan Bloom   May 19, 2008

My love,
You deserve the truth.
Through all the courage I hold,
I will bestow upon you my hearts belonging.
I will administer the answers to your souls' inquisitions.

In every frailty attempt in expressing my deepest secrets,
I've hidden the truth behind counterfeit body language,
hoping you may unmask the conveying message
I have waited far too long to confess.
It is time for me to inform you,
so you will understand
why I am vulnerable.

The innocent words keep knocking at my lips.
They beg to be released from their bondage
but, still, I retain them unnecessarily.
What use are they imprisoned?
Patiently trapped together,
they await my command
and crave to be heard.

I beseech your acceptance of such lightly uttered words.
For, In great fear of rejection will they adorn you as a whisper.
Let these words stroke you gently as a soft breath of wind.
My hopes will never be higher as I ache for your reply.
I will need to know if you understand how I feel
Because I, too, deserve to know the truth.
Listen to me and I will grant unto you
What you notably wish to know.
Draw nearer unto these lips,
so I can whisper veracity
and finally admit
I love you.
