Today

Today I woke up thinking,
"Two days til I graduate."
I wish it had already happened
And that we could celebrate

I'm going off to high school
No more in elementary
Thank goodness I'm gone
It feels like it's been a century

But instead of thinking of past or future
Let's think about Today
Today let's go and celebrate
That eighth grade work has gone away

Congratulations to me!
I just can't wait
To get away from tiny kids
And open high school's gate

I walk inside and wonder
If I'll ever fit in
But instead of thinking of the future
Let's think of Today again
