I See.

by ashleeey   May 22, 2008

I'd do anything to be back in last year's arms.
Because baby, everything's nothing without you.
Time has swept you away, and I can barely breathe.
You're still here, but when I open my eyes, it's not you.

Masks can only hide so much, and I think I'm showing through mine.
The mirrors are liars, because that can't be me.
I don't want this to end, but it's not what you think.
When I say those three words, why don't they tell you not to believe?

What can't you see that I'm slipping out of our pool?
But I guess it's not just you, because everyone's blind today.
But now, I can hear their screams so clearly in the dark.
When I was waist deep with you, it didn't matter what they'd say.

But my true senses are returning, you can't fool me anymore.
I see you for what you are, I hear your words for what they mean.
It wasn't me, but it wasn't you. It wasn't us, either.
It was fate, it was time, and it was change; And finally, I see.
