Relax and Realize

by One Heck of a Blonde   May 27, 2008

I sit here,
without a care,
hoping that,
I won't get mauled by a bear.

-_-

Then I realize,
that when I relax,
its interesting to hear the birds,
and smell the beeswax.

The grass tickles my bare feet,
and the bark feels rough against the
small of my bathing-suite covered back.

I rub a hand over the roots,
and breath in the deep forest air,
watching the dogs play in the distance,
barking and growling,
their paws not touching the ground,
as they collapse to relax,
as sisters of nature.

As I sit by something so simple,
something so pure.
I realize something,
so vile and cruel.

We're killing nature. We're killing
the peace we need.
The realization and the relaxation
cannot be found now, because I've realized
one horrible thing.

We're killing ourselves,

and the only world with chocolate. :-)
