Today

by Pixxie Rebel   May 27, 2008

She's tired today,
Two hours of sleep last night.
She knows it's not good for her,
But can't shut her eyes;
'Cause when she does,
The voices return.
Reminding her of why
She's alone in this world.
They hound her with hate,
And malice
And glee
At the pain she feels nightly.
Yet she takes it all,
Thinking she deserves it.
After all, why else would Daddy hurt her?

She's tired today,
Two hours of sleep last night,
She knows it's not good for her,
But couldn't shut her eyes;
The voices were back,
But there was something different this time.
They whispered softly in her ear
Making promises of delight,
That it would be over soon.
So today she wears a smile
Instead of her usual frown,
Because tonight it will end,
Tonight she will drown.
