I Loved Her First

I Loved Her First

Look at the two of you
dancing as one
reuniting the fire,
celebrating the love you have won.
Lost in each other's arms
Eyes glowing like the moon
Gazing like no one else is in the room.

Seeing you hold her that way
I'm not going to stand in your way
Life grows up and times change
but theres still one thing to say...

I loved her first
I hugged her first
It was best friends to be
When she first smiled at me
A friendship like this runs so deep
I knew she would find you someday
And I know your not taking my place
But its still so hard to give her away...
Because I loved her first.

I was enough for her a couple years back
But your love was something she seemed to lack
It was friendly calls and email pen pals
And she still means the world to me even now
Shes going to be in my heart till the end
So be careful when you hurt or hold my best friend.

And remember...
I loved her first
I hugged her first
It was best friends to be
When she first smiled at me
A friendship like this runs so deep
I knew she would find you someday
And I know your not taking my place
But its still so hard to give her away...
Because I loved her first.

How could that beautiful woman with you
Be the same blooming blossom I once knew
The one I laughed and cried with all those nights
But when she met you I knew it was only a matter of time...
And now seeing you hold each other this way
I am left standing still, longing and amazed.

But remember...
I loved her first
I held her first
and a piece of my heart
will always be hers.
And someday, I hope the same happens to me
to have a miracle smile back at me, so true, so deep.
