Our Love (Sonnet)

by Alex F   May 31, 2008

When I look in your eyes, I see our love
I see stars, the sky, and I see freedom
I see color, sparkle, and heaven above
I see all the glory of God's kingdom

When you're not with me, I'm like a caged bird
But when you enter the room, I'm set free
When your face is seen, and your voice is heard
All I can think about is you and me

I think about the love that we share
The good and the bad, we've been through so much
Yet know our love is true, and that we both care
My reassurance comes through your touch

When your presence has left, my eyes shed a tear
Yet when you are gone, I know you're still here
