Broken

by Casey Lynn   Jun 2, 2008

Judgment splits like a crack in the glass
Broken down in the haste of anger
Harsh comments thunder throughout
Slicing deeper than a knife's edge
Ripping at trust, dividing it forever

The slam of the door hits violently
Just like the fist a second before
As the shock explodes it penetrates
The senses crying out in heartbreak
The conscience screaming of remorse.

Diminishing to the likes of a corpse
Against the foundation of their once called home
The sobs rack the body and torture the mind
An ending that is terrifying and confusing
Yet exhilarating and destined to be

Relief floods through the body
Pulsing through the veins
Knowing that the spots of black and blue
Will be pushed to the back of the closet
The secrets depleted; the lies undiscovered.
