Me Against You Verse the World Verse Me

by Courtney Lynn   Jun 2, 2008

Days started perfectly. The sun shined so bright.
The evenings ended with a smile as you kissed me goodnight.
Things were the way they were meant to be.
No such thing as them verse you verse me.
Just you and I; teens thinking they could survive.

Some purity slowly started to slip.
Still though we were in love.
We encountered some tuff times,
But we always found a way to rise above.

Spring had ended long ago,
And autumn was falling away.
We sensed a cold brutal winter.
So we tried to hold on tight.

Emotions ran wild,
So many in my heart.
Where did they all come from?
They were tearing us apart.

I yelled and screamed
I cursed and cried.
You always tried to convince me,
That everything would be alright.

I had no reason for the way I felt,
Now I’m suffering for the hand I dealt.
I tried to control you,
Though I said it was all in your mind.
Well the day finally came,
Where you realized love had you blind.

That summer day there was a cold chill.
I could barley see the sun.
Listened to my feet pound the pavement,
I knew only to run.
That evening ended with tears.
and ear shattering screams.
Now it’s me against you verse the world verse me.
