One night

Driving in the car with no destination, No end in sight
he sits there trying to read her, will he do it right?
They talk about them, they talk about the past
they drive so far, yet time is slow to pass
He lets her in, lets her know who he was before
talking about the old, like the opening of a door
the walls that were so strong, that were so tall
have all but crumbled, the pieces how they fall
he takes her to the places he used to haunt, the places he used to go
he tells her everything, the words seeming to flow
he takes her to the place where he first got the feeling
when he first thought of more, yet let the feelings fall away
tonight those same feelings they dance and they play
they make him so nervous, his heart beating through his chest
yet his surface remains calm, doing his best
he stops from crying, stops from showing the hurt
all that matters is the moment, the happiness shared between the two
that happiness only known to a select few
that kind of happiness where you know everything will be right
he sits on cloud nine, he wants to be her knight
he listens to her laugh, he listen to her voice
hoping she regrets what she did, hoping she makes another choice
the drive comes to an end, forever in his memory
as she walks away from the car, he is left wondering what to do
will the love come back, will it be a new?
he thinks about the drive, about how it went down
he will forever have this night, the night he didn't frown
