The touch

by Adam Archer   Jun 9, 2008

Her smile belied her dark lonely eyes
Her words not telling the vacantness inside
Memories of events long gone never reaching consciousness..

Until He touched her

And when He did, His light reached every crevice of her mind
His love ignited the fire in her soul and showed her freedom
He cast away the shadows of those distant happenings and gave her light and promise..

He had touched her

This regal girl who had long endured
Held what He gave her in her heart
And soaked in it; Was warmed by it; renewed by it
And became it..

He had touched her

And she took His touch, His light, His hope
and grew, in silent majesty, as He shared His love
and she became His love and became His light..

He had touched her

She looked at Him with smiling eyes
and showed Him what His touch had done
And she gave all herself to Him.
She showed Him what a touch can do
And made His spirit soar and see..

That she had touched Him

You're a great writer! The way you placed your words was so eloquent; the feelings are all there, perfectly and understandable.
    It's a good poem.
