Letter To The World

by Jessica   Jun 13, 2008

To Whom It May Concern,

See these iridescent flowers
rancid of pesticide
musty air stings your cheeks
from the smog of labor

redwood sprouting from concrete soil
fertilized by acid rain and carbon monoxide
one puff of smoke,
the desecration of Earth

ozone depletion
from your careless excretions

haze of Global Warming
sweat stings the penguin's eyes;
glaciers melt

Pearly beaches of trash and debris
the sparkling waters;
a vast of garbage and waste
marine life bathe in crude oils
the sludge does wonders for their complextion

stop,
smell the aroma
of this rotting carcass
missing only his ivory tusks
missing only her striped fur

Isn't the world beautiful?

Sincerely,
Unknown

    We will not rest until we have exhausted all the Earths resources.

    This drums home that message so well.

    Well done
