A mistake I can't let go

by Bettina   Jun 13, 2008

I left you on your own one Sunday afternoon
thinking I would never regret it
I told you I didn't want to see you soon
my face-you could just forget it.

Your eyes were red but denied to shed a tear
yes you were always like that -proud-
I removed the sunglasses from ur eyes to see ur fear.
All I saw was brown wettened ground.

But our last kiss was just enchanting
nobody there but us under the golden sun
your arms feel tight, your voice beguiling
you raise me up and tell me I'm still the one.

Since then I think about you a great deal
as the boy I loved and I love so
since then I'm trying my wounds to heal
but it's a mistake I just can't let go.
