Lonely Requiem~

by Maurice Carpenter   Jun 14, 2008

Despite I may not have
What girls truly desire,
The one thing i can give you
Is passion mixed with fire

Despite i may not have
The thing that makes girls glad,
The one thing i can give you
Is something ive always had

A radiant sense of humor
And something more then a friend,
Someone you can talk to you
And then some more in the end

And youve heard them say
There is plenty fish in the sea,
What you dont understand is
I want someone like me

Someone who is funny
Soneone who is smart,
Someone who i can hold close
And listen to their heart

Someone who is outgoing
And is absolutely devine,
Someone that is gorgeous
And also genuine

If they actually took the time
To look and understand,
But if they dont im just some gravel
On this beach filled with sand

This is my Lonely Requiem
Different from all the rest,
All these things ive said
I need to get off my chest.

Why are we oh so different
Good guys and the bad,
How could bad guys always win
This is what makes me mad

So hear me what im saying
Dont just pass me by,
Through the good times and the bad
When we laugh and when we cry

Enjoyed reading this. Truthful words, nice rhymes. Most poems sometimes feel forced into rhyming and this one doesn't :) 5/5
