Tasting Tears

by Kenny   Jun 19, 2008

[A Sailor's Story]

The wolves' turbulent sharp noise
That echoes through his tenuous elven ear
Overlapping his lady's lulling gentle voice
An inhabitant in his heart, the only sound
to hear

Every moistened dawn tears pour cold
Of unbearable grief, Of separated hearts
A margin of countless distance to fold
Heartbeats to reunite, never again to depart

Beneath the silence of the limitless sea
Of solitude, uncertainties of life lies constant
A prisoner of tragic love longing to break free
From the cellar of nothingness, her
love to hunt

To dream at vacant nights was his only escape
From void gloomy mornings of fiery heat
Tasting his tears of sorrow, flavored like grapes
To shed for his lady, was always memorable
and sweet

^I absolutely adore these lines. I can easily relate to them. I liked how your poem started out with the image of wolves.

You have an old soul. But it is quite captivating. Nice work.
