Green

Green is more than a color.
More than a mixture,
More than an phrase,
More than a reflection,
More than a trait.

Green is the first sighting of spring,
The smell of the Earth,
The taste of clean air,
The sound of the wind,
The feeling of care.

Green is the love of a sheltering tree,
A flower's beginning,
A nurturing leaf,
A symbol of luck,
A personality.

Green is a wonder that's rapidly fading,
Away from our beings,
Away from our mirth,
Away from reality.
Away from the Earth.

Green is a color that's being demolished,
Along with the trees,
Along with the nature,
Along with the land,
Along with the nurture.

Green is a color that needs to be saved,
From being erased,
From being abused,
From becoming waste,
From being removed.

Green is a color we need to survive,
Without it we suffer,
Without it we strive,
Without it we perish,
Without it we die.

Green is more than a color,
It's a supporter of life,
It's an ongoing strife,
It allows us to thrive,
It's a way to survive.

I have to say again. I like this poem.
I forgot to tell you the first time. You took something that sounds so simple like any poet would. but the color green....why green?
I think you showed us that. made it into somthing more complicated but makes such more sense. green isn't just a color.
