I prop your smile up with sticks
as your tears wet the wood
you heart shrinks as i stretch it out
your eyes dull as i shine a light in them
your happyness is my sunshine
your sadness is my night
your laugh is my music
your cry is my scream
my back to the fire to protect your face
my time is laid at your feet
my hands lift you up as you sink
the sticks start to fall as your smile holds itself
the tears heal my wounds as they sink in
your heart holds my arms up as it grows
your happyness lights my room as it kills your sadness
your laugh drowns out your cry
my back is healed by your words
my time is used by your life
my hands are freed as you rise.
