Wonderful imagery here. I love the ocean and also hate leaving it behind, but I'm guessing this poem is a metaphor. The beach could be any place, any moment, any peasant experience that we wish could last, but know won't. The lines "To leave an imprint
on this beach" are especially powerful. We all want to make our mark on the world; to leave something for people to remember us by. Lovely work.
