Carry On

by DJ   Jul 3, 2008

My comatose hearts overthrown
I'm drowning in your eyes
an overdose of liquescent hope
drenched in soluble goodbyes

Retribution long overdue
reunited like never apart
a candle flickers in fleeting faith
guiding us now through the dark

Solitary distance traversed
obstacles together dismembered
parting ways further counting days
on one another we count to remember

Overlooked origins unearthed
undertake this task with a vengeance
we'll stalk this path with heads held high
a second chance to earn our reverence

Convoke a silent search party
scavenge your heart for 53 days
invoke the love that sleeps within
nearly buried alive in a grave

Antecedent naive lessons
together we've weathered the storm
tranquility in the eye of the hurricane
because baby we've been here before

Can you see the shore?
