I Miss You

by Richard S   Jul 13, 2008

The last Ritz cracker mocks me,
For being all alone.
Static from the radio,
Seeks to set the tone.

A long drawn face looks back at me.
The mirror doesn't lie.
My bed is cold and empty.
All I do is sigh.

The T.V. tries to cheer me,
And take my mind away,
From thoughts of how I miss you,
And how we often play.

The traffic hums outside the door.
People laugh and joke.
But these things aren't important,
Without my kindred folk.

I realize I'll see you soon,
So frowns are not O.K.
For when I greet you at your plane,
I want to make your day.

So I eat the mocking cracker,
And the radio is tuned.
The mirror reflects a smiling face
For you will be here soon.
