Living for tomorrow

by kandi windor   Jul 15, 2008

Some people may not understand the real meaning behind this poem but then again thats the beauty of poetry

Kids be creating a tag, and distancing themselves from their biblical name
but still be rocking a Crucifixion pendent on their 2inch platinum chain
that they bought with finances that should have been used to fund their college degree, but they lost their aim
ain't that a shame?
ain't nobody looking for a solution Cos society is too busy looking for the one to blame

and not willing to start with themselves, Cos their prides too big to swallow
acting like they can cast the 1st stone, quoting scriptures they do not themselves follow
saying you gave your life to God, but it seems like you lent it to the devil to borrow
and he has sucked up all the love and left our souls hollow
got us rushing through the day, 'cos we are living for tomorrow

Good work...how I interpret it is, (at least as far as the title goes), living for tomorrow being saying you're going to do something such as live for Christ, then do all these negative things then say 'oh well, I'll start or do it tomorrow'.
I know what you mean about people still wearing crosses of crucifixes even when it doesn't mean anything to them.
    Keep writing!
    Take care,
    Ignoris
