The Beauty of the Storm

by ImmortalKitty   Jul 19, 2008

I watch as the sky turns fro blue to grey
The clouds sound out their war cry
The darkened sky lights up in a flash
Lightning cracks a whip into the clouds
They begin to drench the thirsty ground
The wind whips through with its song
Singing glory to this
Folks run about to hide, in search of shelter
While I continue to stand in silent awe
The trees whip in the wind shedding their seed
How quickly the mystery of the earth
Soaks through my body deep into my soul
The cool wind blows through me in a hurry
Off to spread its joy to the world
I close my eyes as rain drops creep down my face
I feel the ground slip away from my feet
Although I am standing firm
I am taken to a place of which life is formed
Bright and wondrous the claps of death
Cool and refreshing my thirst is quenched
Swaying to and fro dancing with the leaves in the breeze
I gaze up to the mountains
Hidden now by the darkened sky and pouring rain
Can no one see the beauty that is pouring down around them?
Nor appreciate the fierce dominance she reminds us she has?
We have touched the sky and beyond
We have sunk below the sea
We have tried to paint her beauty
Yet still fail to see
Through the clouds, past the lightning, and hear her song through the thunder
The love of which she showers upon us who await below
The beauty of the storm yet watches in awe as she sends her brilliant smile
So step outside and gaze upon it feed upon it and feel it deep into your soul.
Other wise you’ll never know the brilliance of her dance.

Your poem took me there. The imagery was fantastic, I could feel the rain. Well done with good flow and vivid imagination
