Birthday Wish

by livefreebright   Jul 21, 2008

The last thing I want is to see you at my door with yellow roses
I'd rather die than read your last text message
I'd walk the plank before I hit the floor

And I can't say I'm surprised
That you didn't even call
But I still cried
Having hope in you at all

I'd smile to see you cry
So am I a bad person
For wishing simple wishes
And taking the fall

Keep the card, don't waste your time
Release those balloons into the sky
Trash the box with the pretty bow
You don't even know
You don't even know
Is it so much to ask for a birthday wish
I guess it is because you couldn't even do that

The last thing I want is for you to call me at midnight
To make sure you're the first one of the day
I'd rather die then wear another necklace
I'd walk away before I'd take your call

I'm not asking for much
But it means the world
If you cared enough to wish me a happy day
I don't understand
What's the big deal
I guess it's just a waste of breath for you

And I can't say I'm surprised
That you didn't even call
But I still cried
Having hope in you at all

---please rate and comment. Just a little song I wrote. Yes, he did say happy birthday, just too little, too late.
