If That Doesn't Make Your Heart Race...

by Romancing the Darker Side   Jul 23, 2008

So I hear we've got this secret.
This little evil plan, between just us.
Sweetie, why don't you elaborate?
I want to know just what this is all about.
Frankly, you're a heartbreaker and I'm no better myself.
You keep your emotions wrapped tighter than a child's Christmas gift,
But they're of no use to me.

So come on in, take a seat.
(Let's just hope no one catches you sneaking in)
Oh the irony... A lover and a liar.
How perfect are we tonight?
So tell me again that I'm "beautiful,"
Make me want to listen to what you're whispering.
It's honestly not worth the effort
If you're not going to go all out and scream it.

So why don't you slide that ego off,
And check it at the door tonight.
We both know we won't need it for quite some time,
But boy, is time running faster.

I've got no devious intentions.
(Minus you hopping the fence on the way out)
So let's just call it even-
We've got three weeks together.
Truce?

I loved this! It was so different and quite appealing. The story was easy to follow and I found myself wanting more when it was finished. The hint of sarcasm was very clever and the imagery was easily painted in my mind throughout reading this.
