A Place To Pretend

by CaffeineBomb   Jul 26, 2008

Those once in a lifetime meetings
They change you then they're gone
You're left behind, unaware
Haven't realised the line's redrawn

But you can still see them on the screen
And when you do, it's like they're breathing down your spine
Those shivers make you happy
Make you think they might remember that one time

This is a place to pretend
That someday you might meet again
This is the place to pretend
A chance to lust without having to explain
A place to pretend that your eyes might haunt them
The place to pretend that you don't want them
Even as you're looking in their eyes in year-old photographs
And wondering just what they're doing now

Do you still remember me, from just one night?

Who knows what brought us together?
Who knows if we'll always be apart?
Those shivers make me happy
Who knows what you've done to my heart?

This is a place to pretend
That someday you might meet again
This is the place to pretend
That there's love you just can't contain
A place to pretend that you'll be together
The place to pretend it'll be forever
Even as you're looking in their eyes in year-old photographs
And wondering why you're thinking of them

You can't remember me, from just one night.

This is a place to pretend
The place to pretend that feelings are reciprocated
This is a place to pretend
The place to pretend it's not just something you created
As a way out
As a way out
And I'm looking at your eyes in some year-old photographs
And wondering if we'd ever work out even though we only met once
And you probably don't remember me now.
