Horse and Girl

Thud, thud, thud,
This is the steady beat of hooves on a summer fields ground.

A soft laugh of glee is heard within this beat, making the combination musical.

Right before you is a magical scene, only seen with a true eye.

Allow me to create a scene in your mind, you will be greatly surprised at its powerfulness and beauty.

Around you is a field with blades up to your knee, colors ranging mainly of green and brown.

Gently wrapping you in it's warmth, a breeze travels around you like a soft, warm blanket.

Tree's enclose this area, making it calm and serene. You think you are the only one there. Look again, my friend, for there are two other beings with you.

Suddenly a soft three beat is heard, almost like drumming. Finally your eyes catches the culprit of this wonderful sound.

A dark bay horse travels at a gallop, the sunset's light casting colors of many sorts to his muscle and hide.

Glowing red and orange, the horse gallops along effortlessly, the beat so pure and steady you can only watch with awe.

You then notice this horse isn't alone, but accompanied by a rider floating on his back.

Her legs are wrapped around his middle and she leans forward into his mane.

Your eyes can pick out a bright smile on the girl's face, her eyes were stunningly blue.

Staring, the pair run across the field, two becoming one.

The girl's red hair blends with the black mane, her laughter making music with the beats of the horse.

Across the field they fly, coming closer and closer to you.

Sudden fear grips you, worrying they will clash with your rooted body.

Just as they near, the pounding grows louder and louder, still steady, the girl's laughing becoming louder and more full.

They are about on top of you when suddenly all is silent for a single moment.

You search for them, wondering where they had gone too. Looking around you see them gallop away, the noise receding, though still steady.

Into the sunset they ride, disappearing into tree's.

You can't help but wonder where they had come from, but know they were special.

Finally able to move, you turn and walk away, still in a daze from your encounter with girl and horse.

This, my friend, is the bond between girl and horse, it cannot be broken.

They will forever fly together in the fields and love one another like kin, do remember.

It cannot be broken.
