I Sit Here

by JayLush   Jul 30, 2008

I sit here, looking at the earth around me
While trying to get that painful image of you leaving me out of my head
It amazed me to see what happened between us
In just a matter of short time

I sit here, listening to the sounds around me
Trying to delete the sounds of hurt that still fill my ears
From that day of cursing, screaming, and yelling
Got me wishing I could rewind time and erase it from history

I sit here, isolating myself from the earth around me
My mind still stuck on you and what we used to have
Everything now just a memory of the past, wanting it to become part of the present
Even though I know Im chasing a fairy tale dream

I sit here, looking stupid and confused about why you left
Even when I know exactly what happened between us and
Clearly the reason why it happened
But theres something I need to say since Im sitting here before you now

I sit before you to say Im sorry for everything
Even thought I know that sorry cant make up for all the pain Ive caused
And I cant blame you for being unforgiving
Because Lord knows I deserve it

You sit here, to see me beg for your forgiveness
And both you and I know that sorry cant make up for all the hurt Ive caused you
And as I sit here , looking and listening to the earth around me
I once ask for forgiveness and try to
Forget about what happened to us in
Such a short amount of time
I sit here.
