With age, comes.. happiness

At the age of 7
Here mommy passed away,
Everything from then on,
Was far from just "OK"

At the age of 10
Her daddy was a drunk,
Came home every night at 6
And beat her like a drum.

At the age of 13
She slipped into self hate,
Started to inflict herself,
Just to feel the pain.

At the age of 14
Her daddy went to far,
Whipped her with a phone cord,
And Locked her in a car.

At the age 17
She left her dad for good,
Changed her name, and died her hair,
And did all that she could.

At the age of 40
She found herself a man,
Together they had children,
And got a wedding band.

At the age of 90
Shes as happy as could be,
She left her drinking father,
And now, shes truly free.
