^^ I really like your title, by the way. One of those ones that you reread because you're like...did i read it right...? but...i don't like being ignorant. :P

Laying on the lawn again
Grass moves with a breeze
I wish I could write better poems
When I have nights like these

^^ haha. so i'm looking for metaphors in everything ((or somethin'..)) because that's what i was told to do..*cough*. but i look at poems sort of literally when i read them...so the last two lines mean more to me. because i think all writers/poets feel that way. or people in general. we want so badly to just get it out...and it gets stuck anyway. >.<

Is it not depressing
When you see the brightest star in the sky
But it turned out to be a plane
Speed of sound flying by

^^ So I'm looking at this metaphorically, though I want to look at it literally. blehh!
but the way i read it, and it's probably wrong, is that our bright, shiny stars wind up being so fake and then we have nothing to look up to. and it's harder to say that outloud and just be....wow. you're so fake...sooo we hide it in metaphors ((or something)).

Laying in the grass again
Shirt wet from the dew
It's when I have nights like these
When I think most about you

^^ yay for a literal stanza ((i write in metaphors but I read in reality. . .i just noticed that)). this was good. *whispers* punctuate.

Is it not uplifting
When you're in an ocean green
The stars paint a sky of pictures
Stars paint exactly what they mean

^^ mmm...this still makes me want to be able to see the stars perfectly. because it's just like...that perfect Thing in this place...they can say exactly what they want to..why cant we? :(

Laying on the ground again
Same old story told
About a boy who watches the stars
I think its getting old

^^ I think you're talking about what we "discussed" the other day. about how it feels like you're repeating yourself when you write or how you turn around and you realize you're not being as original as you believe..*claps* good stanza.

Is it not pathetic
He doesn't even know
How to be blissful
Ignorance is gold

^^ I think that to be blissful, you can't have a firm grasp on reality. Lol. I think you have to be able to not only think in metaphors but..live in them. and i suppose ignorance in this way is golden. it's peaceful. but to me ignorance seems like empty houses and too-quiet nights..but that's just me.

again, i love this stanza....like i sad before, i think it's intersting that you kill them...buttt we've already talked about that.

^^ i think it's interesting how in almost every love poem the end means it dies. it's just an interesting way to look at the end of a poem...

great job, jesse...makes me wish i could go out and actually see stars...
