Only Friends?

It really is a bummer,
That we haven't talked all summer,
Just because that one day came,
When I thought being "Just Friends" could be the same.

But now when I look back,
To when I was way too bold,
I feel so damn upset,
And my heart turns icy cold.

I guess that I'm just sorry,
But that probably doesn't matter,
Because I broke my own heart in two,
But it was yours I shattered.

But if you could forgive me,
I'm sure we'd make amends,
And we could get back to the life way before,
When it was as simple as "Only Friends."
