In the Heart

by Deana   Aug 15, 2008

In the heart
Lie the secrets of the dark
Burning embers fan the flame
Feel the pain,his love imparts

In the soul
An aching need you can't control
Longing for the gentle kiss
Do you miss,my hand to hold

In the night
Caring not for wrong or right
Sensual dreams sweet embrace
Can't replace,the lovers sight

In the end
Dreams are scattered on the wind
Healing not the wounded heart
Never start ,what no one wins

Have you took a journey through me?

Blah, thats totally how I feel right now! Heart, soul...ugh! This was amazing. I truly love reading poems I can relate to. I know a lot of people hate that comment "I can relate" but with each line I read I felt me shaking my head in agreement!

I really enjoyed reading this poem. It flowed so nicely!

I have to say that last line of yours was truly something that hit home...Something I need to remember myself :)

This is a very beautiful piece. The longing for someone that is not there can be felt in your words.

    In the heart
Lie the secrets of the dark
    Burning embers fan the flame
    Feel the pain,his love imparts

The pain oif losing the love of someone does hurt badly. These thoughts always seem to consume our minds at night.

    In the night
Caring not for wrong or right
    Sensual dreams sweet embrace
    Can't replace,the lovers sight

It is so easy to get lost in a dream....but so bitter sweet when we wake and realize it is just a dream.

    In the end
Dreams are scattered on the wind
    Healing not the wounded heart
Never start ,what no one wins

What a befitting end to this poem.
    Great job Deana!
    Love Cindy
