If I Could

If I could have just one last chance
I'd try to say I'm sorry
I'd prove to you that my romance
Wasn't a fiction story

If I could have just one more day
I would not leave you behind
I'd spend every hour, minute & second
Lying by your side

If I could have just one last night
I'd kiss your lips goodnight
I'd pass out in your bed, beside you
Until the morning light

If I could have just one last kiss
It would eternally break my heart
To take and give it. To know it's my last
Would completely tear me apart

If I could have one last word
It would have to be goodbye
Although, "I love you," seems more clear
A "goodbye" would be less of a cry
