Wasting Love

by Jenn   Aug 19, 2008

Love has crept upon me
On me
Into me

It is not me
I am weak and bitter
It threatens to become me
Because it knows that I am careless

It is neither what I imagined
Nor what I care to know
So I know what love is
I am still the same me

It doesn't have name on it
Believe me, I've looked enough times
On a little sticker that gives away
All of the mystery

For you, my love is in the form of a label
That is how much I care
For you, the world, I am keeping love in me
Because I am just not that heartless

Because I feel my heart pulsating
Slower than it should be
Because I wanted love for so long
That in the end I gave up wanting

Because love doesn't have a meaning
For me, I am weak and bitter
Still it isn't me
It is in me. But it isn't me.

This first verse already caught my mine and made my want to read on. Nice imagery you portrayed there (: And what follows is just delightful to read. And I really really loved how you personified love, as if it was a person, an object. One of my fav poems up here, 5/5!
