Tangerine Skies

by AlyssaaEstabrookss   Sep 3, 2008

As the bright moon rises,
in the still tangerine sky,
her eyes glow with passion,
as he walks towards her.

no more perfect could he be,
than what he is tonight,
his hair spiked perfectly,
and shirt buttoned up.

he stands in front of her,
not saying one word,
and just gazes deeply,
lost in her brown eyes.

nothing could be more perfect,
as he kisses her gently.
the entire world stops,
on account of their love.

everyone thinks they're crazy,
so young and in love.
no one has felt what they felt.
together they will always remain.

as he drops to on knee,
her heart skips a beat.
a small ring upon her finger,
promises that he'll be her's forever.

he stands up,
wiping the tears from her eyes.
she laughs so quietly,
and he holds her for hours.

the days creep by,
turning to months.
the anticipation is stronger,
as everyone gathers outside.

a black car pulls up,
a man in all black steps out.

the bride so fragile,
ready and beautiful,
gets life changing news,
that day.

one motorcycle,
one car.
gliding across the road,
to meet each other.

her man,
he was no longer more.
without him she's nothing,
ready to die.

he meant so much to her,
she sits alone in her dress lifeless.
the one she never wore and never will,
blood still dripping from the knife.

her mother never knew how she loved him,
she never really did understand.
but when she found her daughter that day,
she knelt down to take her limp hand.

"daughter" she said,
softly and calm.
"i always knew this day would come"
as she cried she stood up to wipe the tears.

"in heaven he'll meet you my darling,"
"you'll dance in the light of the moon,"
"he'll hold you until the end of forever."
"and stand gazing in perfect,"
"tangerine skies.."
