Waters

by SingleWing   Sep 5, 2008

If you read so carefully,
Between the lines we've written
So blatantly and carelessly
Before your very eyes

You would see that we,
Two and many more
Are young and so deliciously
Testing the waters ahead

We dip a toe and dive head first
Not knowing where we're going
Then rise for air and look around
Realising "What's done is done."

A responsibility we can barely carry
On our wispy shoulders
Has consumed us so entirely
That we have severed ties

Ties with mundanity
And plain faced acquaintances
We do not know who we are
And know vaguely what we seek

All we know that time right now
Is neither threatening, nor meek

Early November 2007.
