An Unlikely Best Friend

by Annie   Sep 7, 2008

A young girl
the center of attention
arms waving wildly
brunette hair flying about

Laughs loudly and makes jokes
her smile big, as she self-consciously
tugs down on her shirt
but no notices

She's amazing
everyone is her friend
everybody asks
but don't really care

The brunette breaks away
as people turn their attention
she casts her eyes down
and sighs heavily

Again no one seems to notice
yet a shy blonde walks up
smiles, says hello, and introduces herself
The brunette thinks the blonde's crazy

Concerned the blonde asks,
"Are you okay?"
Shrugging her off the brunette mutters,
"Yeah, of course I'm fine."

Unsatisfied the blonde
asks just a few more times
She answers the same
then stops

"You actually care?"
The brunette asks.
"Yes of course!"
the blonde states simply.

"What did you say your name was?"
"Darion. Brianna right?
"Yeah.... It is."
"Are you busy this weekend?"
