Little did he know

by Mycquel   Sep 17, 2008

I played my position and I played it so well
Yet at the end of the day, I'm the one who failed
Better yet, it was his fault..jumping to conclusions
A bike ride and a drink had him seeing illusions
He thought I was easy and prey for his pride
Little did he know, I was unswayed by his stride!
I held my ground and didn't let his smile break my guard
His eyes held such promise, In his eyes I thought I was his star
So young and naive
Is what he perceived
Little did he know, I'm smart and quick on me feet
So when he made his offer, I politely threw him for a curve
He turned around killed me softly with his words
From this point on I count him as a tear in my bucket
And a lesson never to forget
