Letter of Time

by Galldora   Sep 19, 2008

Many months have past since i last saw you;
Twenty five to be exact, but who's counting.
How i thought the pain would have lessin' over time;
i was wrong, it just grew everyday.

We first met through a mutual friend;
You were shy and distant yourself from human interaction.
i must of saw somthing specail;
for i made it my mission to get you to talk.

From that first night in a small southern Ontario pub;
to where we are now, its like two sides of a coin.
You had two different lives to live;
life on the road and a somewhat normal home life.

Weeks, sometimes months would pass before you would return;
but when you came back to town, it would be like you never left.
we would just pick up from where we left off;
as if a moment had never been missed.

When back in town you told me you got married;
i was so happy for you two.
but now as i think back;
i believe that was when something changed in our friendship.

I always knew she was an important part of your life;
And i would expect nothing less.
I never nor would ever try to come inbetween you two;
But something has made her believe something different.

There has been a few times you had made a pass at me;
Maybe a bad judgement at the time.
But i had your back, like a good friend does;
And would put you back in your place.

I really miss your friendship;
You were like my big brother i never had.
There has been times where i really needed one of your famous talks;
I would have done anything to have talked with you.

I dont think you ever really understood what you really meant to me;
It's hard to explain and put on paper.
When we talk, no matter what we talked about;
You cold make our confussing world make sense.

Just being in your presence had something over me;
You just had some ora around you.
You didnt have to say a word;
Your eyes said it all.

If i never get to hear your voice again;
It will be a shame.
But i can at least hold on to one thing;
The gaze of endless possibilities in your eyes will never be forgotten.
