Do you live in Thailand or have you visited Thailand? I have been to Thailand many times and yes, there are those similarities and differences. (: It's always interesting to read about two cultures in comparision with one another! It was a fun read. If you want to go on with that track of thought you should look more into world-views such as: Individual oriented versus group-oriented, the differences in government, and the religious differences too. (:
