Checkerboard Romance

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Sep 21, 2008

Rythm:
1-1-1-1-1-2 1-1-1-1-2

Your checkerboard romantic is taking his turn
Know what you don't know before you can learn
The music in the surroundings keep up the beat
We walk, to walk longer, to have ground under our feet
I don't know much, but I know enough now
I can tell you I love you and try to show how
Our checkerboard romance, our inside joke
My glass (plastic) heart, yours after it broke
The pieces are old and the winner's unknown
You have to know where you're loved, before you go home
Our checkerboard romance, it stays black and white
I tell you I love you, sweet dreams every night
You hold me closer, than anyone would try
Your checkerboard romantic, is lost in the sky
Our checkerboard romance, with tears in our eyes
Need to know when you're back, before you say goodbye
One day I'll see you, checkerboards all around
I promised you once, not to let your feet touch the ground

Great poem, I liked it. The wording was great. I gave it a 5/5.

I really liked this one too. I think that the rhyme scheme added to the meaning behind the poem. Nicely done.
