Waiting In a Plane

by Soulful Ensemble   Sep 26, 2008

I was under a tree under the sunny sky
And along came a tribe to make me feel crazy.
They picked me up and I said goodbye
To the sunny weather , as my mind went hazy.

They tried to make me look stupid and crazy
Because I'm holding a flower named daisy.
And she's really a rose but then I think maybe
Names were meant to be broken and torn
Like a new flower that just now has been born.

I'm getting on a plane that flies high to see you
I can't wait to arrive and I can't wait to be with you.
When I arrive I hope to see you came through
And you decided to fly and fly high like the moon.

And when you come back with me we can wait together for a plane
That takes so long to arrive we use smiles to fill every window pane.
Sit next to me near the window and see the whole world so small
That it looks built for little people that actually fit in the halls.

Meanwhile I'm in the sky, so high, looking out like a spy
That examines the world through a tiny hole on the side.
And I'm thinking that you saved my life when you said, "hey"
"There's a roaring hurricane outside and I think you should stay."

Creatures slithered outside, and they have hearts, too
And their cold blood is blue like the moon
But they have some love, too, because they live
And every creature alive has something to give
So maybe someday you will learn to forgive.

But you did save my life when you stopped me, I think
Because the wind blew and the streets were flooded, too.
I didn't think to thank you like you deserved to hear
I'll make it up to you with love-- that's all I can give.

And these are the thoughts that come as I fly on a plane
To see you finally with your flowery hair.
And the tribe that came to make me feel crazy is there
But I'm too busy looking out the window pane.

I'm not crazy or lazy or looking down the rabbit hole
But if you fell down deep I'd follow you, feeling whole.
I'd find you even if years went by and took their toll
And my heart could never turn black like coal
Because my gentle aura surrounds my soul.

I read a sign that read " a rolling stone gathers no moss"
And it touched my heart and I wanted to cry.
I'm rolling and picking up speed, as I tumble across
If I keep moving forward I'll never die.

I miss you and I'm flying to see you, soon
Under the blue sky and the yellow moon
We will lay together and love will bloom
So wait patiently, I'll soon be with you
As the sun peaks in a summer of June.
