The Claim

by Anastasia Glass   Sep 27, 2008

It was so simple and sweet
Like a lilting melody
Of the crosshairs
Between dream and reality
I fell for the boy
Who helped me become a woman
Showed me happiness
And serenity
He told me he loved me
and goodness I believed it
For he help my hand through
all the meloncoly
People said it wasn't true
But tell me wouldn't you
Tell the people to go away
When all you wanted was to sit and dream about the day
That you would marry him
And be able to call him husband
To hold his hand
and know he was yours
Alas that was his claim
But to no avail did it stay
For today I stand alone
A woman no longer childish
yet I was the so guilible
To fall for a boy with only a claim
