The Ride

by Ashley   Oct 18, 2008

The thought of practice in my head,
Made me not want to get out of bed.
I went to the gym and met a friend.
Soon enough, we became the best of friends.
Sleepovers every weekend.
Staying up late, watching movies as we ate.
Telling stories as we grew closer and could really relate.
Soon enough, we were picking out our next debate,
Just to see how far we could push each others buttons and irritate.

Car rides were so much fun
We'd play a song and away we sung.
On our way to the game, we would mentally train.
Prepping the hair, becoming well aware.
Win or lose, we didn't care
Because we both knew, next to us our buddy was there.

Away to Florida, on our spring break
I had a little too much sun, one could take.
Not only that, but I made some friends,
The priest and head fire chief held my hands.
Truth be told, I fainted on Palm Sunday,
So later that day was when we spent our time by the pool to lay.
Overall, this spring break was one with memories that we each got to make.
We even learned that store clerks, turned out to be real jerks!

Can't forget about the Cedar Point trip,
We heard we could go, and away we split.
Excited and ready to ride all those rides,
Storm came, rained us out, which was no big surprise!
Lucky for us, away it cleared,
We were the ones who stayed and then got to cheer!
Rode every single rollarcoaster ride,
Then it was time for us to say goodbye.

We've grown so close in the pass few years,
I've never known someone who was worth shedding tears.
All our fights, have shown me I really do care,
And I know that is something I really don't let you hear.
Even though I am far away,
I still think about you every single day.
You're my best friend, my sister at heart.
I hope we will always stick together and never fall apart.
