Claim Me Softly, Fiercely

by Weeping Wolf   Oct 30, 2008

A starstruck gaze- A beat to the heart!
A breathless, relentless longing...
The pitter-patter of paws...
romping in moonlit fields- at last!
fireflies cavorting in the grass
As I bound toward you, singing your name!
My love-light, putting these stars to shame!

Run with me, and never tire
Howl with me, light this fire!
With love so true, we defy the stars
And time bows to the music of our hearts!
For this night is a never ending song...
Oh do you know...do you know...
I have loved you for so long...
(so long..so long..so long..)

Caress me beneath the moon
and kiss me, sweet and true
And I shall do the same for you...
Oh..do you remember when...
I exclaimed "This never has to end!"
Don't shake your head, I meant it!
Don't tremble, I'll kiss your hands
your tiny dancer, twirling in the sand...
By chance, this rare feeling we've found
So let us rejoice, howling sweet and loud!

Run with me, and never tire
Howl with me, light this fire!
With love so true, we defy the stars
And time bows to the music of our hearts!
For this night is a never ending song...
Oh do you know...do you know...
I have loved you for so long...

And after our bodies settle after a rampant flight
In a velvet bed of leaves, hold me through the night
And I'll sleep smiling, listening, arms entwined
as you whisper..."I hope you don't mind..."

Run with me, and never tire!
Howl with me, light this fire!
Claim me softly,
Claim me fiercely,
Claim me softly...
Claim me fiercely!
Purity..this could be...you and me...

Claim me softly, fiercely...my love...
For as the rhythm of our hearts slow
Let us fall together in embracing leaves
Never giving up...never letting go...
And I will hold you so deeply,
your skin will be mine, your breath
as two lips become one, so close
That my hand on your heart can feel my heart's pulse.

Oh my goodness!!!!! This one rocks my world, Layla. :) Each new love poem you write just excites love and hope within the reader- who is, in this case, me ;)

Somehow, some way, we must make this into a beautiful song. :)
