Lonely End Of December

by The Invisible Boy   Oct 30, 2008

It was a lonely end of December
On the destroyed fire burned the embers
It was cold, so cold

That night the snow was falling
I thought I heard your soft, sweet voice calling
It was chilling to hear that voice in pain, again

When the past comes back to haunt you
You can feel the icy shiver run through
Then you go, just go

The frozen lake along the lane
The blood freezing up in my veins
And the churchyard covered in snow
The priest looking out the window

The priest, he clutched his Bible
The icy, cold ghost, our rival
And the cross we held up high
For the evil, bitter ice to die
But you to stay and not go again
To stay with no more pain

I don't want to wave goodbye
Like the three times he went on to deny
I regret trying to not make you stay

If you love me
Why did you go?
If I love you
Why did I let you go?
