My Heart Hangs In Suspension

by ImperfectBliss   Nov 8, 2008

The world hangs in suspension

Whispering a tart question to the black universe

And I wonder why it is never answered

It seems as though this heart of mine

Can never seem to still it's beating

Even for one lonely moment

But then, oh! it catches

And it, too, hangs in suspension

With the colorful earth

Two faces swim before my eyes:

The one I can have,

And the one I never can

Why does it seem so hard to choose?

The butterfly of my mind flits

From one calm dandelion to another

And looks at me with a question in its eyes

Why is the world so full

Of sad goodbyes?
